Serrated Slump is the Akron based duo consisting of interdisciplinary artists Maggie Duff and Pete Bach. Duff plays various hand tools (primarily the singing saw) which are run through a chain of various guitar FX pedals. She also experiments with vocalizations and field recordings. Bach processes both prepared and found samples with software and samplers. By combining these disparate materials, they achieve both full, shimmering ambient sonic environments as well as more harsh and foreboding sounds. Their music draws inspiration from sounds they hear while working outdoors in their home city, including machines, traffic, plants and animals, distant voices, etc.

They curate events at Hive Mind in Akron, OH and are part of the Akron-based tape label Soft Pedestal. When they aren't making art and music, you might find them in an urban garden or hanging out with cats.
